Cookie Policy

What we store on your device, and why. Short version: one small record of the choice you make, and analytics only if you say yes. No advertising trackers, no data sold or shared for marketing. Section 6 of our privacy policy covers the same ground in legal terms.

The short version

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Some are needed for a site to work at all; most of the ones you hear about exist to follow you around. We use one of the first kind and, with your permission, two of a mild second kind.

Everything we set

This is the complete list. You can check it yourself in your browser’s developer tools, under Application → Cookies and Local Storage.

Name Set by Type Category What it does Kept for
mf-consent MiloFlix (this site) Local storage Strictly necessary Remembers the choice you made about cookies, so you are not asked again on every page. Holds only your answer and the date you gave it. Until you clear your browser data
muxData Mux (video hosting) Cookie Analytics Set by our video player so Mux can count views and measure playback quality. It holds a random id and a session number — no name, email or anything you typed. 1 year
_ga, _ga_* Google Analytics Cookie Analytics Counts visits and shows which pages get read, so we know what’s worth writing and making more of. Set only after you accept analytics cookies, and deleted again if you withdraw. 2 years

What we deliberately don’t do

Some of the usual sources of third-party cookies have been designed out of this site rather than consented around:

Changing your mind

Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing, and takes effect immediately. Use the button below, or “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. If you turn analytics off, we stop collecting and clear the analytics cookies already on your device.

Your browser can do this too

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for a site, and most let you refuse third-party cookies entirely. Look under Settings → Privacy. Doing so won’t break anything here. If you clear your browser data you’ll also clear the record of your choice, so we’ll ask again on your next visit.

Questions

What we do with the information itself — including anything you send us through the contact form — is set out in our privacy policy. If anything here is unclear, or you think this page has fallen out of step with what the site actually does, email miloflixie@gmail.com and we’ll fix it.
